FlexIT
(Flexible Insulin Therapy) Sessions

GSHS is offering members of the public who have Type 1 Diabetes, a chance to participate in a two day FlexIT session.  

Participants must attend both days, be 18 years or over and have Type 1 Diabetes (and be using a combination of short and long acting insulin).

During the two day program you will learn how to best match your insulin dose to your food and lifestyle. Each small group program is presented by a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with advanced skills in managing Type 1 Diabetes. Practical advice and personalised feedback is provided.

Topics include:

• Insulin adjustment for food and physical activity

• Carbohydrate counting, inclduing practical activities

• Diabetes health targets and checks

• Hypoglycaemia, hyperglycaemia and sick day management
